Education and Other Social Services
Social welfare or services provide the backbone of community action to cater to the civic responsibilities of society to its population, particularly the poor. The Department of Education, Department of Social Welfare and Development; Department of Health; Department of Agriculture; Department of Interior and Local Government; and the Local Government Unit of San Lorenzo, Guimaras all join hands in providing essential social services. to its constituency.
- Education
The educational services of San Lorenzo consist of 12 public elementary schools (one for each barangay), two (2) primary schools and one (1) private elementary school. In the secondary level there are two (2) public high schools located in Bgry. Constancia and Bgry. Suclaran and one (1) government-owned higher education institution, namely the Guimaras State College-Baterna Campus.

- Health Facilities
The municipal government has 11 barangay-based health centers, three (3) birthing centers for barangays Gaban, M. Chavez, and Cabano which are the front-line in the delivery of basic health services. There is one (1) rural health unit, which serves as the Municipal Health Center located at Barangay Cabano offering essential medical services (or general medicine) for the people. Residents with more specific or serious medical needs go to the Provincial Hospital in San Miguel, Jordan or in private hospitals in the island or in Iloilo and Negros.
- Protective Services
San Lorenzo is one of the peaceful municipalities in the province of Guimaras. Composed of Twelve (12) barangays with 26, 112 total population (May 1, 2015, Census Population). No prevalence of kidnap-for-ransom, no terrorist initiated atrocities such as economic sabotage, bombings targeting populated areas, recreation centers, transport and economic hubs. Also, there was no single incident of robbery in pawnshop and other related high crimes. Most of the incidents happened were crimes which have light penalties, and the crime of murder and homicide were in rare cases. With the installation of 54 MEGAWATTS Wind Energy Farms the said municipality became well-known. It can be said that the Municipality of San Lorenzo is a peace-loving community coupled with affable and law-abiding citizens thus, it has no record or encountered crisis or major event that threatens to harm the organization, its stakeholders, or the general public.

On Insurgency, the Municipality of San Lorenzo remains quiet and insurgent-free. However, there was unconfirmed information in the Past few years reaching this station among others that the Province of Guimaras is a rest and recreation ground of the CPP/NPA personalities, travelling from Negros Province and Panay Island. A number of operations have been conducted to confirm the said information, but proved futile. This station however, remains on the guard and alert for the possibility of their resurgence in the area of responsibility.
